Spring 2012

A class for undergraduates and graduates

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 am in the Archaeology Center. There will be additional practical sessions.

CLASSART 114 (3-5 Units)

From clay to culture: a review of how to analyze, interpret and understand the design, technology, manufacture and consumption of ceramics. Offered as part of Stanford's Archaeology Program, the class nevertheless will appeal to broad interest in one of the most enduring of art forms and materials. Guest appearances from specialists and practitioners will accompany site visits and hands-on studio work.
